International Bat Night at Devil’s Throat Cave and Yagodinska Cave

For another year, Science for Nature Foundation organized the International Bat Night in order to promote the important role of bats in nature and their conservation.

The event took place in two caves, Devil’s Throat and Yagodinska Cave – home of some of the largest bat colonies in Bulgaria. On August 22 the event was held in front of the Devil’s Throat Cave, and on August 23 – in front of the Yagodinska Cave.

Visitors were able to learn interesting facts about bats and their way of life. A topic that we also discussed was the relationship of bats to COVID-19.

People of all ages took part in the events. There was an informational booth where everyone could ask their questions and take pictures with thematic models. Visitors were able to see alternative shelters for bats.

We look forward to our next meetings with you!
