Over the last four weekends, thanks to our volunteers, we were able to visit key winter shelters of important colonies in the municipalities of Asenovgrad and Peshtera. Тhe caves and the beautiful nature around them are attractive and they are often visited by people.
During the cold months bats fall into a unique physiological state called hibernation. Their heart rate and breathing decrease, excretory processes and movements are minimal and their body temperature drops. That’s how they survive the period when there is no food.
Totally we got 401 drawings and 146 stories! That is what students from all parts of Bulgaria and Bulgarian schools abroad sent to us for the first edition of the Watering place with history competition. We successfully held the first dog friendly mountain running competition in Bulgaria. The ultramarathon took place on October 23rd in the mountain hills of Eastern Rhodopes, which welcomed 42 runners and 7 four-legged friends.
